ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn (6-6-1, 2-4-1) women's soccer team finally defeated their curse of slow starts on Friday (Oct. 13) against the Concordia (MI) Cardinals (1-12-1, 1-5-1). The Wolverines peppered the Cardinals goalkeeper all afternoon and finally broke through in the 77th minute on a Juju Kleit goal, giving the Wolverines the 1-0 victory.

After falling victim to slow starts in previous games. The Wolverines were on the opposite end as they outshot the Cardinals 8-3 in the opening half. Unfortunately, the opening half was scoreless, as neither team could get onto the scoresheet.

In the second half, the Wolverines still took it to the Cardinals as they again outshot them 7-3. It wasn't until the 77th minute when Rena Arabi found an open Kleit, who deposited the ball past the Cardinal goalkeeper and into the back of the net to give the Wolverines the only goal they would need in a 1-0 victory.
