Wolverines Lose Nail Biter Against Siena Heights

DEARBORN, Mich. -- Coming off their most impressive win of the season on Wednesday. The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team looked to end the season on a solid note and build momentum into the spring. However, the Wolverines would lose 76-70 against the Siena Heights Saints on Saturday (Feb. 24) at the Fieldhouse. 

The Wolverines were led by Jackson Reynolds and Troy Campbell, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively. Reynolds shoting 5-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-9 from three. Reynolds connected on all eight free throw attempts to finish with 22. Campbell shot 6-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-7 from behind the arc. Campbell was also efficient from the line, going 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. Campbell hauled in seven rebounds, three coming on the offensive glass.

The Wolverines were strong at the free-throw line, shooting 19-of-21 as a team. The Saints struggled, shooting 7-of-19, a 36.8% clip. 

Down two going into the break, the Wolverines let the contest trickle away from them in the second half as the Saints took a 12-point lead, their largest of the game. With 5:35 to go, the Wolverines faced a 12-point deficit. UM-Dearborn would outscore the Saints 12-6 in the final minutes but missed a few crucial shots at the end of the game to complete the comeback. 

The Wolverines conclude the 2023-24 season with a 4-24 record.
