Keledjian's Farewell: Wolverines Drop Lakers 5-0

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (15-3-1, 7-0-0) women's ice hockey team honored Kaylee Keledjian, who played in her final game in the Maize & Blue in a home contest against Grand Valley State University. Keledjian's final game was the Wolverines' fifteenth win of the season as they shut out the Lakers 5-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Andi Evers

The Wolverines got out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter. The Wolverines' goals came just 22 seconds apart. The first came from the Wolverine special teams unit. After the Lakers were sent to the penalty box for coincidental minors, the Wolverines found Evers in front of the net, and she tallied her 15th goal of the season. Right off the faceoff, the Wolverines chipped it into the offensive zone, and Keledjian fired the puck on net. After a scrum for the puck in front of the net, Samantha Sensoli avoided a falling Laker and pushed the puck past for the Wolverines' second goal in quick succession.

Evers scored the lone goal in the second, beating the Lakers netminder under her right arm to extend the Wolverines' lead. Two more goals were scored in the third period as Evers closed out her hat-trick with a powerplay goal at the 5:24 mark. Nine minutes later, Sydney Gillen scored an unassisted goal after chipping the puck past Laker defensemen and finding herself all alone with just the goaltender. Gillen fired a wrister over the goalie's right shoulder to close out the 5-0 victory.

Kenna Borso was named the game's second star after recording her seventh shutout in her eight victories.
