Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets in Liz Hossler Classic Finale

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (3-4) volleyball team concluded their three-game stretch at the Liz Hossler Classic on Saturday (Sept. 2). The Wolverines went up against undefeated foe Bethel University (10-0). The Wolverines ultimately fell in straight sets despite Sydney Eggleton and Marisa Fetterley recording double-digit points. 

 

The Wolverines came out of the gates firing on all cylinders as the Maize and Blue started the opening set on a 9-4 run. The Pilots rallied back to tie the first set at 15. The Pilots would go on a run, leading 24-20 with the Wolverines facing set point. UM-Dearborn would tie the contest up at 25, forcing the Pilots to burn a timeout and regroup. Bethel would score the final two points in the set to win 27-25. 

 

The Pilots controlled the final two sets, handing the Wolverines their fourth loss on the young season against a strong non-conference schedule.
