Second-Half Surge Sees Wolverines Fall Short in Season Opener

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (0-1-0) men's soccer team opened the regular season on Saturday (Aug 26) against the Point Park Pioneers (3-0-0) at Star International Academy. After a lackluster start the Wolverines, the Wolverines went on a second-half surge outshooting the Pioneers 5-4. Unfortunately, the Wolverines came up short losing 2-1.

The Wolverines trailed 2-0, at the half after not registering a shot in the first-half. The Maize & Blue settled in during the second half registering the only goal of the half when the Pioneers misplayed the ball in their defensive third and Xavier Walser capitalized on the mishap and tapped it into an empty net for the Wolverines.
