Wolverines complete huge series sweep of Warriors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team traveled west to complete a home-and-home series against the Indiana Tech Warriors in an ACHA matchup.

Coming off of an emotional come-from-behind win the night before and defeating Indiana Tech for the first time in program history, the Wolverines looked to complete the series sweep Saturday afternoon. UM-Dearborn found themselves down two after two periods, however the offense game alive in the third as the Wolverines struck three times to once again hand the Warriors a come-from-behind defeat, 3-2.

Indiana Tech's Michelle Borland would get her team on the board mid-way through the first. Borland would add her second goal of the night on the power play to push the Warriors lead to two after two periods of play. Nicole Hahn would get UM-Dearborn on the board just under two minutes into the third period. Riley Vandenheuvel and Paige Finlay would add assists on the goal. Andi Evers would tied the game at two as she scored short-handed with Finlay adding her second helper of the period. 

Madison Schroeder carried over her strong play from the night before, netting the game-winning goal with six minutes remaining to help the Wolverines clinch a huge series sweep. Samantha Sensoli and Ashley Savage added assists on the goal.

Kenna Borso got the win in goal for UM-Dearborn, making 42 saves in the game.

The Wolverines return to action against the Adrian College Bulldogs, on Thursday, February 15th at the Arrington Ice Arena in Adrian, Mich.
