DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey team returned to action Friday afternoon, playing host to the Penn State Nittany Lions.

UM-Dearborn found themselves behind on two separate occasions, but relied on two third period goals to secure a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

After a scoreless first period, Penn State took an early lead in the second on the power play. The Wolverines would respond with a power play goal of their own as Samantha Sensoli found the back of the net, set up by Madison Schroeder and Taylor Spence. However, the Nittany Lions would re-take in the lead in the final minute, going up 2-1 heading into the second intermission.

Schroeder would tie the game at 2-2 seven minutes into the third with Sensoli getting the lone assist. After killing off a late Penn State power play, UM-Dearborn would connect on a power play of its own as Andi Evers found the back of the net with just 28 seconds remaining, helping secure the 3-2 win for the Wolverines. Zoe Zaifman and Amy Palaian would record assists on the game-winner by Evers.

Victoria Hahn got the start in goal for UM-Dearborn, making 30 saves in the game.

The Wolverines and Nittany Lions will conclude the weekend-series tomorrow afternoon at 1pm at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena in Dearborn, Mich.
