Wolverines Drop High Scoring Affair Against Golden Eagles

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a game that saw over 200 points, the University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-9, 0-6) men's basketball team came out on the wrong side after dropping a 120-85 contest against the Cornerstone Golden Eagles (5-5, 2-4) on Saturday (Dec. 16). 

The Wolverines shot 43.7% from the field, connecting on 31 made field goals. The Golden Eagles shot the ball at a 60% clip, shooting 51-of-85 from the field and 9-of-22 from three. 

Joshua Warren led the Wolverines with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. Warren tallied two rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes of work. Jackson Reynolds shot 50% from the field, scoring 13 points and hauling in four rebounds to go with a trio of assists. Troy Campbell led the Wolverines with six assists. 

The Golden Eagles flustered the Wolverines on the defensive end, blocking nine Wolverine shots. CU was effective on the glass, securing 20 offensive rebounds and outrebounding the Wolverines 56-32. CU scored 74 points in the paint compared to just 28 for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn will play their final game before an extended break when they take on Holy Cross on Wednesday (Dec. 20). Tip-off is set for 3 pm.
