Wolverines Look Strong at Jayhawk Invitational

MUSKEGON, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country teams ran their first of two races in the month of October in preparation for the WHAC Championships on November 5th. The women's team finished fourth overall with 97 points, while the men finished 7th with 187 points.

 

Kylie Callison ran a great race, finishing 15th overall and fourth among individuals competing outside the NCAA Division II. Callison's final time of 19:15.63 was a PR by 44 seconds. Mikayla Borg's 19:26.3 was also a PR, beating her previous time of 22:05.0. Borg finished just outside of the top 20 in 21st overall. Samantha Turner ran her second race of the season and finished 24th, just 10 seconds behind Borg. 

 

Mary Bradshaw crushed her PR by over a minute, beating her previous time of 21:37.4. Bradshaw's 20:21.4 gave her 35th overall. Lauryn Hoover took 40th with a time of 20:34.4. Kaitlyn Bourque and Malia Borg rounded out the Wolverines with a finish of 51st and 52nd, respectively. 

 

In the men's race, Brett Leidal finished second amongst WHAC competitors with a time of 26:15.89. Joe Seibert was right behind Leidal, finishing four seconds behind him, crushing his PR by 35 seconds. Isaac Tiernan took home 71st with a new PR of 27:51.8
