Reynolds Breaks Out, Wolverines Lose at the Buzzer

PITTSBURGH, Mich. -- Despite dropping a late-game thriller on Monday (Nov. 6). University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-1) men's basketball head coach Domenic Policicchio III was pleased with his team's effort and watched his team grow a lot over the first two games of the season. Monday's loss came at the hands of the Point Park Rangers (5-0) 83-82, who scored their final two points with one second remaining as the initial basket was no good after being blocked. The referee ruled it was goaltending, giving the Pioneers the victory at CCAC-Allegheny.

Jackson Reynolds was the star of the day as he poured in 27 points on 12 made field goals. Reynolds connected on the free throw that also gave the Wolverines the lead with seven seconds remaining in the game. Josua Warren added 19 points of his own for the second consecutive game. Jimmy Breaux rounded out the Wolverines in double-figures with 14 points and eight rebounds. 

The Wolverines held the Pioneers to just 39% shooting from the field, while UM-Dearborn shot 49.3%. The Wolverines dominated the Pioneers in the paint, outscoring them 42-28. 

The Wolverines will be back in action on Friday (Nov. 10).
