DEARBORN, Mich. – In a game that saw only three lead changes, the final outcome did not depict the course of the contest. The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team dropped a 71-54 decision against the Rochester Warriors on Saturday (Jan. 27). Despite the 17-point loss, the game was much closer than it appeared.

Trailing 46-42 with 29 seconds left in the third quarter, the Wolverines surrendered a three to go down seven. Dearborn would not convert a field goal until Bailey Stimac hit a triple at the 6:48 mark in the fourth quarter. That cut the lead seven again, and the Wolverine shooting woes would continue, only converting on one other made jump shot in the fourth quarter.

UM-Dearborn would turn the Warriors over 17 times and held them to 26.9% shooting from behind the arc. The Wolverines were led by Morgan Millers, 12 points, three rebounds, and a pair of steals. Stimac would chip in 12 of her own off the bench as she would connect on two of her four triples in the contest. Maya Barakat led the Wolverines on the glass with 12 rebounds. Jordan Banks contributed six assists to help create open shots for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines are back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 31) as they welcome the Cornerstone Golden Eagles to the Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 5:30.
