Wolverines Suffer Setback Against No. 7 Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – On Saturday (Mar. 30), the University of Michigan-Dearborn lacrosse team suffered a tough loss on the road against No. 7 Aquinas College, with a final score of 18-3. The Wolverines' setback still puts them in good positioning in WHAC play, as they currently sit at 2-1.

Nolan Kelley opened the scoring at the 13:51 mark in the first quarter. However, Aquinas would answer with two goals to finish the opening stanza with a 2-1 lead. AQ scored two quick goals to open the second quarter, expanding their lead to 4-1. Brodie Mahmud answered to make it 4-2 at the 11:30 mark. Aquinas turned their attack up a notch in the second quarter, scoring eight unanswered goals to take a 12-2 lead into halftime. 

AQ would score the only four goals of the third quarter to expand their lead to 16-2. In the fourth quarter, Aquinas continued to control the game, scoring two more goals to bring their total to 18. Michigan-Dearborn scored once more, with a goal by Nolan Kelley at the 1:33 mark.

The Wolverines take on Lourdes on Wednesday (Apr. 3) at 7 pm.
