Barakat Scores 26 in Loss Against Cougars

LANSING, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team faced off against Cleary (Mich.) in a highly anticipated game. However, the Cougars bested the Wolverines in this matchup, taking a 72-50 victory over the Wolverines on Saturday (Feb. 17).

UM-Dearborn needed help finding their rhythm early on. India Grissom and Morgan Miller contributed with a few baskets, but Maya Barakat shined the brightest, scoring an impressive 26 points. Despite their efforts, UM-Dearborn could not keep up with Cleary (Mich.), who had a strong showing throughout the game.

Cleary controlled the game initially, with Taedom Stein and Amy Jackson leading the charge. Stein, who scored 21 points, had an impressive game, as did Jackson, who contributed 18 points.

In the end, Cleary (Mich.) emerged victorious with a final score of 72-50. The Wolverines are back in action against UNOH on Wednesday (Feb. 21).
