WIXOM, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (3-29, 3-18) baseball team looked to get back into the win column on Tuesday (Apr.18) against the top-ranked team in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference, the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers. The UNOH offense dominated the day, putting up 28 runs in two games at the Total Sports-Wixom baseball complex.

Game One

The Wolverine offense looked solid early as they responded with two early runs after the Racers put up a three-spot in the opening frame. Matthew Balash continued his run of success, dropping a Texas leaguer into right field to score Evan Morin with two outs.

Down 3-2, the Racers would hold the Wolverines scoreless over the five innings as they would expand their lead to 11-2. However, UM-Dearborn would scratch one final run across in their last at-bats as Max Tomaszewski would drive an RBI single to center to score David Egged

Tomaszewski, Max McLennan, and Balash would combine for six of the Wolverines' seven hits in game one.

Game Two

Walks plagued both teams in game two as the frigid weather began to play a factor on the mound. 24 free bases were issued between the two teams allowing the Wolverines to score two runs despite being held to just one hit.

Nick Johnson was adequate for the Racers striking out six batters in 4.2 innings. The Wolverines stranded seven runners on base. Matthew Williams and Nathan Mack both recorded RBIs in the 17-2 loss.
