DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (4-4, 1-0) volleyball team welcomed the Siena Heights Saints (8-2, 0-1) to the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse for Wednesday night volleyball. The Wolverines upset the Saints, who ranked second in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference preseason poll and touted an 8-1 record entering the contest. UM-Dearborn took down the Saints 3-1 in a back-and-forth contest.

"Tonights atmosphere was one of the best in my 10 years coaching at UM-Dearborn," said head coach Eric Stark. "The crowd was definitely a factor in helping us defend our home court." A colossal factor they were, as the Saints could not maintain a consistent attack. Along with the dynamite atmosphere, the Wolverines were incredible with their block, as they tallied 20 assisted blocks and one solo block on the night. Marisa Fetterley and Regan Sliwinski each tallied six blocks for the Maize & Blue. The Wolverines were also effective in their attack, as five individuals finished with eight or more kills. Kielee Tondryk led the way with 12 kills as she caught fire in the final two sets. Tondryk also led the Wolverines with 14 points.

Sliwinski was the most efficient in attack as she tallied the highest kill percentage in the match as she swung .438. Regan Rose and Kenzie Mertz were phenomenal all night as Rose led the Wolverines with 40 assists and chipped in 13 digs, while Mertz led the team with 16 digs and kept numerous balls in the air to save critical points.
