Wolverines Drop 11-2 Matchup against Trine

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team hit the road for their first road contest on Sunday (Feb. 18). The Wolverines fell to Trine University 11-2 at Zollner Stadium. 

The game started with Mason Loudermilk of UM-Dearborn scoring an unassisted goal in the first quarter, but Trine quickly responded with four goals of their own to take a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw Trine continue to dominate the game, scoring three more goals to take a 7-1 lead into halftime. 

The third quarter saw Trine score two more goals to extend their lead to 9-1. UM-Dearborn managed to score one goal in the fourth quarter, but Trine scored two more goals to seal the win. Overall, Trine University outshot UM-Dearborn 48-18 and dominated in ground balls with 43 to UM-Dearborn's 32. Trine's Noah Markus had a hat trick, while JJ Boos scored two goals and Peter Piccillo scored two goals and had one assist. UM-Dearborn's only goals came from Mason Loudermilk and Jeremy Fancett

The game was not without its penalties, with UM-Dearborn accumulating eight minutes on eight infractions and Trine University accumulating five minutes and 30 seconds on six infractions. This game marks UM-Dearborn's first loss of the season, bringing their record to 1-1.
