Thomas Proudlock, Men's Ice Hockey, 10/9/2019

The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey opened the season with an impressive series against No. 2 Lindenwood University, earning a 3-1 win on opening night, before an overtime loss on Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines were led by the outstanding play of senior goaltender Thomas Proudlock, as No. 4 UM-Dearborn opened the season 1-0-1. For is efforts, Proudlock has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as well as the UM-Dearborn Player of the Week.

The WHAC honor is the first for Proudlock this season and the fifth for Proudlock in his career after earning the award four times in 2018-19.

The Southgate, Mich., native stopped 37 of the 38 shots he faced in the opener, making a handful of spectacular stops in the victory. He added 26 saves in the finale and opened the year with a .956 save percentage in two games.

The Wolverines open WHAC play against Concordia University at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
