MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (3-3) volleyball team traveled to Indiana to participate in the Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic on Friday (Sept. 1). The Wolverines played twice on Friday evening, winning the first match against Cumberland (TN) 3-0 but unfortunately lost the second match after being swept by Grace College (4-1).

UM-Dearborn dominated the first game, sweeping the Phoenix (25-23,25-22,25-22). During the contest, Sydney Eggleton led the Wolverines with 11 kills and six aces. Brookie Wetherill was dynamite at the net as she was a part of nine blocks on the afternoon, while the Wolverines tallied 20 blocks in the contest. Wetherill added six kills in 15 attacks to finish with a .400 kill percentage. Regan Rose dished out 23 assists to lead the Wolverines while adding seven digs on the match.

The second match did not go as planned for the Wolverines, as they were swept in straight sets. Eggleton again led the Wolverines in kills (11), but the heart and soul of the Wolverine gameplan was neutralized as the Wolverines did not record a single block in the nightcap. Kenzie Mertz highlighted the Wolverines with 12 digs to lead the Wolverines.
