Wolverines Wrap Up Competition at the Live in the Lou Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country teams traveled south to run in one of the largest cross country meets in the country on Saturday (Sept. 30) in Kentucky. 

Both teams ran in the silver races. The men's race had 389 competitors, while the women's race had 401.

Brett Leidal was the top finisher for the men's team, as he raced through the finish line at 26:13.2, good for 15th place. Joe Siebert finished inside the top 50 with a final time of 26:54.9, an average pace of 5:24. Brendan Buckner averaged a 5:39 mile in the eight-kilometer race, finishing with a final time of 28:07.9. Anderson Gattis and John Borowicz finished 28:31.3 and 28:42.0 respectively. 

In the women's race, Kylie Callison finished the five-kilometer race with a final time of 19:59.9 an average pace of 6:25. Malia Borg finished right behind her, crossing the tape in 20:08.9. Samantha Turner crossed the line in 20:44.3 with an average pace of 6:40.
