DEARBORN, Mich. -- The No.16 University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-0-0) men's ice hockey team opened up their season against the Oakland Grizzlies in an ACHA matchup. The Wolverines scored 27 goals in two games to finish the weekend 2-0. 

Fresh off his junior campaign in which he took home a litany of accolades, reigning WHAC Player of the Year, Brendan West tallied 10 points in the two games. West buried five goals and dished the same in assists. Reigning WHAC Newcomer of the Year, Bailey Byrd leads the team with a whopping eight assists. 

Newcomer Declan Flanagan had an impressive debut as he tallied six points from his position on the blue line. 

Tanner Beals got the start in between the pipes in both games and recorded shutouts in both contests to begin his campaign 2-0.
