Wolverines Bats Hammer the Saints, Dearborn Wins Big at Siena Heights

ADRIAN, Mich.- The University of Michigan- Dearborn women's softball team (20-13, 10-6) traveled to Christensen Softball Field to face the Siena Heights Saints (10-25, 6-10) for an in-conference doubleheader Tuesday (Apr. 18). The visiting Wolverines would take both games from the Saints collecting 23 hits on the day. 

 

Game One

 

The Wolverine hitters were on fire early, lighting up Saints' pitchers for 12 hits on their way to a 12-2 victory in game one. Senior third baseman Aspen Starr led the way batting 4-4 with five RBIs for Dearborn. 

Lanie Ellinger would take over for Sydni Uhlenberg in the circle in the first inning, surrendering two runs on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts in six innings of work. 

 

Game Two

 

The hot hitting continued in game two for the Wolverines as the team belted 11 hits, including a home run from Makenna Millhorn (4), en route to a 7-3 victory. Senior Gabby Rolak also had a big day at the plate with three hits and scoring one run. 

Hannah Koch looked strong in the circle, pitching seven innings, allowing six hits, three runs (one earned), two walks, and striking out four Saints batters for the complete game win.

 Dearborn welcomes Cornerstone University to Gary L. Brice Field in Detroit on Friday (Apr. 21). First pitch of the conference doubleheader is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
