Wolverines Fall Against Lourdes 72-47

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team dropped a road contest against the Lourdes Univeristy Gray Wolves on Saturday (Jan. 20). The story of the contest was the Wolverines continued struggles shooting, managing just 27% from the floor. Lourdes took the contest 72-47.

The Wolverines bigs were their leading scorers as Maya Barakat led UM-Dearborn with 11 points while Desiree Jackson added 10 points in her season debut. Jackson paced the Wolverines with nine rebounds, three on the offensive end.

Turnovers plagued the Wolverines in the contest as they gave the ball to the Gray Wolves 20 times, allowing 16 points off turnovers. The Gray Wolves held their largest lead of the competition with 4:49 to play as they carried a 29-point lead.

The rebounding battle was close as the Gray Wolves barely beat out the Wolverines, grabbing 45 compared to 43.

The Wolverines look to bounce back on Wednesday (Jan. 24) as they take on Lawrence Tech at the Fieldhouse. Tip-off set for 5:30.
