Wolverines Sweep Lakers After 3-2 Victory.

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (15-3-1, 7-0-0) women's ice hockey team swept the Grand Valley State Lakers on Saturday (Dec. 9), closing out the Lakers after a 3-2 victory at Griffs Icehouse.

Andi Evers continued her run of success as she scored the lone goal of the opening period as she linked up with Nicole Hahn and crashed it into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. GVSU scored in the early part of the second period to equalize, but Cadence Pero would break the 1-1 deadlock with a little over five minutes remaining in the second stanza. Hahn again provided the assist on the goal.

UM-Dearborn would get some needed insurance in the third period as Samantha Sensoli scored an unassisted goal at the 4:01 mark to make it 3-1. GVSU would answer back two minutes later but were unable to add a third goal to the scoresheet despite going the final minute with an empty net.
