Wolverines Fall on the Road Against Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. –The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team visited Madonna University Wednesday night (Apr. 12) to take on the Crusaders. 

 

Madonna opened up the scoring just over 30 seconds into the game to take the 1-0 lead. However, the Wolverines were able to answer the goal halfway through the first quarter when Ryan Savage tied the game at one apiece. Dearborn then took the lead when Mark Bendig scored to make the game 2-1 for the Wolverines. The Crusaders answered with two goals of their own, taking a 3-2 lead, but the Wolverines fought back and tied the game at three when Parker Steindl found the back of the net. With just a minute and a half left in the first quarter, Madonna netted another goal, taking the 4-3 lead, adding onto the lead with just eight seconds into the quarter. 

 

Madonna came out hard in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals in the quarter to take the 9-3 lead over the Wolverines. UM-Dearborn cut down the lead by a goal at the end of the second quarter after Brodie Mahmud scored, ending the first half at 9-4 in favor of the Crusaders. 

 

The Wolverines attacked at the beginning of the third quarter, scoring two to make the game 6-9. The goals were scored by Ryan Savage for his second of the night and Quest Bigelow. Madonna shook off the two goals and put two more up on their own in the third, ending the third with the Wolverines down 11-6. 

 

The Crusaders dominated the fourth quarter, as they scored seven goals in the quarter, ending the game with UM-Dearborn losing 18-6.
