Schroeder Records Eight Points in Sweep Over Aquinas

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (14-3-1) women's ice hockey team completed a sweep of the Aquinas College Saints (1-9-0) on Saturday (Dec. 2) as they defeated the Saints 8-2 and 11-0 in the back end of a home-and-home series.

 

Madison Schroeder recorded eight points between the two games, including a five-goal performance in the 11-0 victory on Saturday. In Friday's contest, Rosa Van Goethem scored her first collegiate goal in the third period after scoring the goal unassisted at the 10:34 mark. The Wolverines' top trio of Schroeder, Samantha Sensoli, and Kaylee Keledjian had phenomenal games, with Sensoli and Keledjian each recording a pair of goals. 

 

Kenna Borso started in net on Friday, stopping 18 shots in the contest and improving her record to 7-1-0. The Wolverine special teams were effective as they scored four powerplay goals in seven chances on Friday and four out of eight chances on Saturday. Victoria Hahn got the shutout in game two as she stopped all 10 chances she faced, earning her sixth win of the season. 

 

The Wolverines take on Grand Valley State on Friday (Dec. 8) at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena. The puck drops at 7 pm.
