Wolverines fall short to Cardinals

DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action Wednesday night, hosting the Concordia University Cardinals in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup.

Despite the Wolverines outscoring the Cardinals in the second half, Concordia relied on a big second quarter handing UM-Dearborn the defeat, 69-55.  

Four Wolverines reached double-digits in scoring with Maya Barakat and Jordan Banks leading the way with 14 points each. Bailey Stimac would add 12 points of her own, while India Grissom finished with 10 points.

Abby Long was the top performer for the Cardinals with a game-high 21 points.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Aquinas College Saints at 1 pm Saturday at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center in Grand Rapids Mich.
