Fancett Scores Four, Wolverines Drop Non-Con Matchup Against St. Ambrose

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team played a game against St. Ambrose on Thursday (Mar 20), which resulted in a 14-8 loss for UM-Dearborn. Despite being knotted up at five heading into the second half, the Bees erupted for nine goals in the final two quarters to hand the Wolverines their fourth loss. 

The game started with St. Ambrose taking a lead of 2-0, but UM-Dearborn's Jeremy Fancett answered for the Wolverines to make it 2-1 at the 6:39 mark. St. Ambrose traded goals with the Wolverines to close out the opening stanza, with the Wolverines trailing 4-2. In the second quarter, UM-Dearborn scored three unanswered goals to tie the game at 5-5. Jack Furton scored his first collegiate goal at 2:37 to give the Wolverines the 5-4 advantage. St. Ambrose scored a goal as time expired to tie the game at five.

In the third quarter, St. Ambrose scored five goals to take a commanding lead of 11-6. UM-Dearborn's Quest Bigelow scored a goal early in the period to make it 6-5, but the Bee's attack was too much to handle. St. Ambrose answered with three more goals to put the game out of reach. UM-Dearborn's Joseph Atherall and Chance Mahon scored goals in the fourth quarter. Mahon's goal was also the first of his career. 

Jeremy Fancett was the leading scorer for UM-Dearborn with four goals, while Joseph Atherall had one goal and two assists. Jack Furton, Quest Bigelow, and Chance Mahon also scored for UM-Dearborn. Zach Priami had three goals and one assist for St. Ambrose, while Matt Cortopassi had three goals and two assists. Lachlan Hodge and Isaiah Hahn each had two goals for St. Ambrose.
