Wolverines Improve to 2-0 in WHAC Play For First Time Since 2017

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team secured a 12-9 victory over Lourdes on Wednesday (Mar. 27), improving their record to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play for the first time since 2017. UM-Dearborn dominated the first quarter, scoring four goals to Lourdes' one. Nolan Kelley led the Wolverines with five goals, while Jeremy Fancett contributed three and two assists. Joseph Atherall and Shane Marion also found the back of the net for Michigan-Dearborn.

Lourdes fought back in the second quarter, outscoring the Wolverines 3-2, but the Wolverines maintained a slim lead at halftime. The third quarter was tightly contested, with both teams scoring two goals, leaving the score at 8-8.

The Wolverines pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Lourdes 4-2 to secure the victory. Quest Bigelow scored two goals in the final quarter, including the go-ahead goal with 12:29 remaining. Lourdes tried to mount a comeback, but Michigan-Dearborn's defense held strong, securing the three-goal victory.

The Wolverines had a balanced offensive attack, with five players contributing goals. Brodie Mahmud led the team with four assists, while Mason Loudermilk added two. Goalie Jack Meyers made 13 saves in the victory.

With the win, UM-Dearborn remains undefeated in conference play and looks to continue their winning ways in their next game against Siena Heights.
