Stimac Surges in Loss Against Aquinas

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-13, 0-8) women's basketball team lost another hard-fought contest on Saturday (Jan. 6) against the Aquinas College Saints (7-7, 4-4). True Freshman Bailey Stimac had her best game in the Maize & Blue as she tallied 18 points and seven rebounds in a 72-59 loss.  

Aquinas College had a remarkable performance from Alona Blackwell, who scored 30 points. Ciara Hardy also played well, scoring 15 points. The team's victory was also credited to the contributions of Ashlyn Wilkes, Claire Gregwer, and Brynn Reams. 

Bailey Stimac was the top scorer for the University of Michigan-Dearborn, scoring 18 points on 7 of 15 shooting and connecting on four triples in eight attempts. Maya Barakat also played a great game, scoring 22 points to lead the Wolverines. Barakat's 12 rebounds give her a fourth consecutive double-double. Morgan Miller and India Grissom also contributed to the team's performance. 

The Wolverines are back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 10) in a road matchup against Siena Heights.
