Electric Offense Propels Women's Soccer to Two Victories at Purple & Gold Tournament

DEFIANCE, OHIO – On the back of 24 goals in two games, the University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-2-0) women's soccer team ran away with two victories at the DC Soccer Purple & Gold Tournament. 

 

The Wolverines poured in 14 goals in the opening game against Eureka College. Katherine Costello netted a hat trick while 10 Wolverines recorded goals. Emmi Pinkowski and Juju Klei led the team with four points a piece. Pinkowski scored two goals and tallied two assists, while Kleit scored a goal and added three assists. UM-Dearborn did not face a shot the entire contest, outshooting Eureka 54-0. 

 

In game two, the Maize & Blue offense kept their run of success as they again tallied 50 shots. Emmi Pinkowski again tallied four points as she added two more goals and assists to her account. Rena Arabi had a strong game for the Wolverines, scoring a brace and adding an assist. 

 

Amelia Strochine played all 90 minutes in net and tallied the shutout for the Maize & Blue.
