DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team (4-6) took on the Aquinas Saints on Saturday (Apr. 1) at Star International Academy. The Saints were in control throughout the contest, overpowering the Wolverines 12-3.

The Saint's offense dominated the Wolverines in the first quarter, but goaltender Jay Rupnow kept the Wolverines in the game, stopping 16 of the 17 shots he faced in the first quarter. However, the Wolverines ended the quarter down 1-0.

Aquinas continued their pressure in the second quarter, scoring three unanswered goals and leading the game 4-0 at the end of the first half. Adding one more at the beginning of the third quarter, the Wolverines found themselves down 5-0 before they could get on the scoresheet when attacker Ryan Savage put one past the Saint's goaltender.

The Saints were able to bounce back after letting in a goal and scored four unanswered goals in the third quarter, bringing themselves to a comfortable 9-1 lead. With just over two minutes left in the third, Parker Steindl was able to find the back of the net, ending the third quarter with a score of 9-2.

With the action settling in the fourth quarter, both teams could not score until halfway through the quarter when the Saints scored another goal with just under eight minutes left in the game. Mark Bendig put another one in the net against the Saints in the fourth quarter. The Saints scored two more goals before the end of the game, finishing with the Saints winning 12-3.
