DEARBORN, Mich. –  The University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-6-2, 1-3-1) men's soccer team took on the Cleary Cougars (4-5-3, 1-2-2) in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Matchup on Saturday (Oct. 7). The Wolverines upended the Cougars thanks to Andrew Schwartz goal in the 82nd minute. The Wolverines put eight shots on goal in the 1-0 shutout.

The Wolverines dominated the game but could not manage to find the back of the net despite outshooting the Cougars 14-4 in the first 80 minutes of the game. The Wolverines surrendered just one corner kick compared to the eight that they were awarded.

The Wolverines broke the scoreless contest when Xavier Walser connected with Schwartz, who laced it into the back of the net with just 8:05 remaining in the game. Elijah Burlak was tested just once by the Cougars and calmly handled his only save on the game, en route to his first clean sheet of the season.
