Wolverines Drop Road Matchup Against Point Park

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-2) women's basketball team dropped the final game of a two-game road trip to Pennslyvania. The Wolverines fell 95-64 despite Maya Barakat tallying 20 points and 15 rebounds. 

 

Barakat was dominant in the paint as she shot 8-of-15 from the floor. Barakat hauled in six of the Wolverines seven offensive rebounds in the contest. Jordan Banks added 12 points and, four rebounds, and a pair of blocks for UM-Dearborn. India Grissom rounded out the Wolverines in double figures as she chipped in 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting. 

 

The Wolverines struggled on the perimeter as they shot just 3-of-14 from three compared to 9-of-25 for the Pioneers. The Pioneers outscored the Wolverines 28-10 on points off turnovers and 30-4 on 2nd chance points. The Pioneers maintained the lead for all 40 minutes.

 

UM-Dearborn plays their first home game on Saturday (Nov. 11) against Indiana South Bend. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
