ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (9-11, 5-6) women's volleyball team played a long, strenuous five-set thriller against Siena Heights (16-5, 8-3) on Wednesday (Oct. 11) night. The Saints defeated the Wolverines 3-2.

After dropping the opening set 25-19, the Wolverines bounced back after their hitters caught fire at the net, registering hitting percentages of .273 and .367, respectively. The Wolverines tied the set up at 13 after a pair of attack errors and never gave up the lead, closing out the Saints 25-23 as Sydney Eggleton tallied three of her 21 kills to close out the Saints.

The Wolverines dominated the third set as they doubled up the Saints, leading 16-8 midway through the set. The Wolverines would take a 25-19 victory in the second set and seemingly take control of the match. The Saints had other plans, as the two teams traded the lead for most of the set. The Wolverines took the biggest lead of the set at 15-12 as Wolverines tooled together a great block.

The fourth set turned into a marathon, as neither team would go away easily. With both teams tied at 29 a piece, something had to give, and the Saints wouldn't give in, scoring the final two points to take 31-29 victory to tie the match up at two. After playing the exhausting fourth set, the Wolverines could not piece anything together as they trailed the entire way in the deciding fifth set. The Saints won the fifth set 15-6 and the match 3-2.
