The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is men’s lacrosse attackman Ben Phillips, it was announced Wednesday.
The Wolverines traveled down to Savannah, Ga., for their 2020 Spring Break trip winning two of the three games. The UM-Dearborn offense shined in the two victories as the team handled Point University, 26-5, and defeated St. Andrews by a score of 17-10.
Senior Ben Phillips led the Wolverines as he scored eight goals and added five assists against Point University on Saturday afternoon and followed up that performance the next day by adding four more goals against St. Andrews.
In just four games this season, the Plymouth, Mich., native has recorded 15 goals and six assists and will look to play a big role for the UM-Dearborn lacrosse team this season.
For his efforts this past weekend, Phillips was also honored as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week and as the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.
The Wolverines return to action against Columbia College at 2 pm Sunday, March 15th, at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.
