The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is baseball's John Dyda, it was announced Wednesday.

The Wolverines opened the 2021 season with a double-header this past weekend against Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind. While UM-Dearborn split the two games with the Warriors, the win was highlighted by the stellar performance of senior pitcher John Dyda.

In his first start of the season, Dyda (1-0) tossed six scoreless innings in game one, allowing only three hits while striking out three and not issuing any walks.

The Wyandotte, Mich., native will look to build upon his strong start and continue to help the Wolverines in this condensed season.

UM-Dearborn will return to action with a double-header against Aquinas College at 1pm and 4pm Sunday, March 28th in Grand Rapids, Mich.
