The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is men’s soccer forward Jacob Drzyzga, it was announced Wednesday.

The University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s soccer came away with two key Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victories last week, finding themselves in a tie for fourth place nearing the midway point of the WHAC season, with a 2-1 win over Siena Heights University at home and a 3-2 victory at Concordia University.,

The Wolverines came alive at the right moments, as they took the lead late in both games. Senior Jacob Drzyzga drove the offense by opening the scoring early against Siena Heights, getting his second goal of the year.

Against Concordia, Drzyzga came through in the clutch with his third by capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to help UM-Dearborn secure the comeback win.

The honor is the first for Drzyzga in his career and the third for men's soccer this season.

UM-Dearborn continues WHAC play against Aquinas College at 7:30 pm Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
