Wolverines earn several ACHA Postseason Awards

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team swept the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2019-20, qualifying for a fifth consecutive ACHA National Tournament.

The ACHA revealed its postseason award winners over the last several weeks, with numerous Wolverines receiving honors.

Senior goaltender Thomas Proudlock headlined the group with his first career ACHA All-Athletic First Team award after a tremendous final season with UM-Dearborn. The Southgate, Mich., native played in 32 games for the Wolverines, closing the season with a record of 23-6-0. He made a career-high 871 saves, finishing with a 2.07 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.

Proudlock was named the WHAC Player of the Week eight times, including a conference, all-sport record-tying five in a row to start the season. He also earned All-WHAC First Team and All-Academic honors this season.

WHAC Player of the Year Nic LaBurn was named to the ACHA All-Athletic Second Team after leading the UM-Dearborn offense in 2019-20. The Northville, Mich., native scored 29 goals and added 29 assists for 58 points in 34 games. He finished with eight multi-goal games and two hat tricks.

Senior defender Kyle Schnettler was named to the ACHA All-Athletic Honorable Mention Team. The native of Metamora, Mich., led the Wolverines at the blue line with 35 games played, scoring two goals and adding 29 assists.

The Wolverines landed three on the ACHA All-Academic Team, including Proudlock, Sean McLaren, and Silas Johnson.
