DEARBORN, Mich. – For the final time in his career, University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey senior goaltender Thomas Proudlock has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
The Southgate, Mich., native was named this week's honoree, marking the eighth award for him this season. Since the award was instituted prior to the 2018-19 season, Proudlock has been named the league's top defensive performer 14 times.
Proudlock holds the program and UM-Dearborn record for most WHAC Player of the Week awards in a season and career. This week's award is the last for the 2019-20 season.
In two games against Rochester University over the weekend, Proudlock allowed just one goal in 120 minutes, making 45 total saves. He currently holds a 2.07 goals against average and .930 save percentage as the Wolverines prepare for the WHAC Postseason Tournament starting Saturday at the Farmington Ice Arena in Farmington Hills, Mich.
