LaBurn scores twice in 4-0 win over Cleary

HARTLAND, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team returned to action against ACHA Newcomer Cleary University Thursday at the Hartland Sports Arena in Hartland, Mich.

The No. 3 Wolverines outshot the Cougars 39-18, controlling the offense in a 4-0 win. The victory moves UM-Dearborn to 10-1-1 overall this season.

Nic LaBurn got the scoring started midway through the first period to put UM-Dearborn up 1-0 on assists from Justin Dunn and Sean McLaren. Dunn doubled the lead in the second period with assists to Henry Laukkanen and McLaren.

Brandon Carr-Ansah scored early in the third period on assists from Adam Groat and Mathieu LaForest, followed by the second goal of the game from LaBurn, with assists from Dunn and Groat.

Thomas Proudlock made 18 saves in net for the Wolverines, earning the shutout.

UM-Dearborn closes the series with Cleary at 7:30 pm Saturday at the Hartland Sports Arena.
