No. 4 Wolverines roll to WHAC win at Rochester

FRASER, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team scored a baker's dozen in the finale of a weekend Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series with Rochester University Saturday at Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, Mich.

The No. 4 Wolverines scored the first seven goals of the contest, including six in the first period to roll to a 13-3 win and earn the series sweep from the Warriors. The win pushes UM-Dearborn to 13-1-1 overall and 8-1-0 in the WHAC.

Nic LaBurn led the Wolverine offense with three goals to push his season total to a team-high 17. Dawson Richard added two goals and two assists, while John Ames chipped in with two goals and an assist from the blue line.

Mathieu LaForest, Silas Johnson, Sterling Cooper, Adam Groat, Brandon Carr-Ansah and Dakota Potter all finished with a goal for the Wolverines, who outshot the Warriors 51-18. Cooper recorded a team-high five assists, while Justin Dunn added three.

The Wolverines have the week off as they prepare for a showdown series with No. 1 Adrian College beginning at 7 pm Thursday, Dec. 5 in Adrian, Mich.
