DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey goaltender Thomas Proudlock has been on a different level this season, racking up wins and weekly awards for the Wolverines.
After two impressive road wins for the No. 2 Wolverines at No. 13 Ohio University, Proudlock has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth consecutive time dating back to the start of the season.
The fifth consecutive award ties the longest streak on record, according to the conference. Ashley Frost of Madonna University volleyball accomplished the feat in the mid-2000s.
Proudlock averaged 34.5 saves per game and stopped 10 of 11 shots in two shootouts in the series. He has started all 10 games for the Wolverines this season, compiling a record of 8-1-1. Proudlock is allowing 1.58 goals per game and has a .948 save percentage.
The Wolverine return to WHAC competition against Lawrence Tech at 5:45 pm Friday in Southfield, Mich.
