DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team split a weekend Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series against Aquinas College, concluding Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Wolverines took the opener 4-2 as they put in three unanswered goals Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich. Justin Dunn got UM-Dearborn on the board first, scoring his 17th goal of the season with an assist going to Adam Groat. The Saints responded as they tied the game at one heading into the first intermission.

Aquinas took the lead five minutes into the second, but Anthony Davis found the back of the net on the power play to tie the game at two with assists going to Brendan West and Nic LaBurn. Davis would add another on the power play just two minutes later from West and Kyle Schnettler to give the Wolverines the lead heading into the second intermission. Dunn added an insurance goal for UM-Dearborn, his second of the game, early in the third giving the Wolverines a 4-2 win.

Thomas Proudlock made 38 saves in the win.

The weekend series finale shifted to the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena on Saturday. The Saints scored two in the third period to take the finale 3-1.The weekend series split moves the UM-Dearborn record to 17-6-2 overall and 12-3 in the WHAC.

After a scoreless first period, Mikhail Khudenko scored the lone goal of the second period from Silas Johnson four minutes in as UM-Dearborn took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission. Aquinas tied the game on a power play goal from Darren Johnson with Mason Stewart getting the lone assist. Brandon Rozema put the Saints up one midway through the final frame with an unassisted goal, while Alex Klekotka sealed the 3-1 win for Aquinas as he added a late goal with assists from Connor Barta and Nick Ottenbacher.

Proudlock got the start in goal for the Wolverines, making 65 saves.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Davenport University at 7 pm on Friday, January 31st at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
