Wolverines take home finale on Ben McPartlin Night

DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 4 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team opened up the last weekend series of the season against the Rochester University Warriors in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

Prior to the start of the game, UM-Dearborn honored former student-athlete Ben McPartlin with a pregame ceremonial puck drop. The 2019-20 season would have been the senior year for McPartlin.

The Wolverine offense spread the scoring out in all three periods, highlighted by a four goal second to secure a 9-0 victory over the Warriors.  The win moves UM-Dearborn to 24-6-2 and 16-3-0 in the WHAC with one game remaining in the season. A win in series the finale tomorrow night will clinch the WHAC regular season title for the Wolverines.

Brendan West led UM-Dearborn, finishing with a hat-trick and added two assists. Brandon Carr-Ansah and Justin Dunn both found the back of the net twice, while Silas Johnson and Dawson Richard each added a goal.

Billy Brock and Anthony Davis added three assists each, while Thomas Proudlock got the start in goal for the Wolverines making 25 saves in the winning effort.

UM-Dearborn will complete the regular season against Rochester at 12:45 pm Saturday at Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, Mich.
