No. 4 UM-Dearborn completes sweep of Concordia

CHELSEA, Mich. – The offense continued to roll for the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team in the finale of a weekend series to open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season against Concordia University Saturday at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Mich.

The No. 4 Wolverines scored six times in the second period to pull away for a 10-0 win over the Cardinals. UM-Dearborn outscored Concordia 21-0 in the two-game series to move to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the WHAC.

Sterling Cooper and Mathieu LaForest each scored two goals, while Justin Dunn and Jared Lee each added a shorthanded tally. Nic LaBurn finished with a goal and three assists, while Billy Brock finished with a team-high five assists.

Other goal scorers for the Wolverines included Silas Johnson, Dawson Richard and Dakota Potter, as UM-Dearborn doubled up Concordia in shots 48-24.

Thomas Proudlock earned his second shutout of the weekend, making 24 saves for the Wolverines.

Up next, UM-Dearborn travels to conference rival Indiana Tech for a two-game series starting Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
