Wolverines complete sweep of Cardinals with 14-0 win

CHELSEA, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team rolled to a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over Concordia University Saturday at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Mich.

The No. 5 Wolverines put the game away early with seven goals in the first period on their way to a 14-0 win to complete a season sweep over the Cardinals. The victory moves UM-Dearborn 15-3-1 overall and 10-1-0 in the WHAC.

Anthony Davis got the scoring started for UM-Dearborn with a goal less than two minutes into the first and finished with a team-high three goals. Justin Dunn, Nic LaBurn and Dawson Richard each added two goals.

Sean McLaren, Mathieu LaForest, Silas Johnson, Billy Brock, and Adam Groat all added a goal, while Brendan West and Johnson each recorded a team-high four assists.

Kayden Pickles got the start in net for the Wolverines and earned his first career shutout with 23 saves.

The Wolverines will host four games in four days next weekend starting with a WHAC showdown against No. 6 Indiana Tech at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
