Sea Wolves rally to tie Wolverines, take SO 2-0

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey closed a string of four games against top-10 teams in four days with the series finale against No. 10 Stony Brook University Monday afternoon at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The No. 6 Wolverines led by two after the first, but the Sea Wolves fought back to tie the game midway through the third. The score remained tied after overtime for a tie game at 2-2, while Stony Brook won the shootout 2-0.

The tie moves UM-Dearborn to 16-5-2 overall.

Sterling Cooper got UM-Dearborn on the board first with a goal midway through the first period on a feed from Billy Brock. Brandon Carr-Ansah finished off a scramble in front for the Wolverines to make it 2-0 late in the opening frame as Brock and Anthony Davis picked up assists.

Stony Brook got one in the second from Devin Pepe and one in the third from Michael Conlin to even the score.

Thomas Proudlock kept the Wolverines in the game throughout, making 40 saves in the tie.

UM-Dearborn returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action against No. 21 Aquinas College at 8 pm Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
