UM-Dearborn hits 15 threes in OT win over No. 13 Lourdes

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to earn an overtime win over No. 13 Lourdes University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday in Sylvania, Ohio.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead, as Cody Kegley led UM-Dearborn with a strong shooting from behind the arc, but the Gray Wolves took control before the break and led 44-36 at halftime. The Wolverines chipped away throughout the second half and with Lourdes up two in the closing seconds, Kegley grabbed a defensive rebound, drove the length of the floor, earning a trip to the line.

Kegley hit two free throws to send the game to overtime, adding a 3-pointer early in the extra frame to put UM-Dearborn up. He hit two more 3-pointers in overtime and the Wolverines held on for an 86-78 win.

The victory is the second straight for UM-Dearborn and moves the team to 15-10 overall and 8-7 in the WHAC.

Kegley finished with a game-high 25 points, including seven 3-pointers. He added six assists and four rebounds. Elwood Tomlinson added 19 points and four 3-pointers, while Mathew Mignault and Damian Forrest scored 11 and 10, respectively.

UM-Dearborn shot 27-of-64 from the field, 15-of-30 from deep and 17-of-27 at the line, outrebounding Lourdes 44-39.

The Gray Wolves were led by Deuce Martin with 22 points off the bench.

UM-Dearborn travels to Siena Heights University at 5 pm Saturday in Adrian, Mich.
