UM-Dearborn (RV) takes down No. 14 Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team picked up a big Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win on the road over a ranked Cornerstone University squad Saturday at Mol Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In a back-and-forth game, the Wolverines got a late 3-pointer from Elwood Tomlinson with just over a minute remaining to secure a 69-67 win over the No. 14 Golden Eagles. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the WHAC.

Tomlinson's 3-pointer gave the Wolverines their biggest lead of the second half in the closing moments as UM-Dearborn remained at the top of the WHAC standings as one of two teams with just one loss in conference play.

Four Wolverines scored in double figures, led by Tomlinson off the bench and Donovan Farrell, who added 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jalen Paul finished with 13 points, while Jason Gigliotti recorded 11.

The Wolverines shot 27-of-59 from the field, 6-of-18 from deep and 9-of-17 from the line.

Cornerstone was led by Christian Rodriguez with 18. He scored his 1,000th-point in the contest.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Lawrence Tech at 3 pm next Saturday in Southfield, Mich.
