Wolverines rally for WHAC win at Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team took control in the second half of a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest at Rochester University Saturday in Rochester Hills, Mich.

The Wolverines trailed by 10 points at the break but rallied to tie the game at 50 with under eight minutes to play. Up one with under two minutes to play, Zach Lattimer hit a 3-pointer to extend the Wolverine lead to four and UM-Dearborn held on for a 62-61 win.

The win pushes UM-Dearborn to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the WHAC.

Lattimer finished with a team-high 14 points, including four 3-pointers for the Wolverines, while Cody Kegley and Damian Forrest each added 13 points. Elwood Tomlinson scored 10 points and Jason Gigliotti pulled down nine rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 23-of-56 from the field, 10-of-20 from deep and 6-of-13 from the line. UM-Dearborn won the rebounding battle 39-28.

The Warriors were led by Armand Cartwright with a game-high 24 points.

The Wolverines return to action at Concordia University at 8 pm Tuesday at the Cardinal Fieldhouse in Ann Arbor, Mich.
